PRODUCTS
CLOTHING
My wearable art and bad ideas. Impress your friends with something inappropriate.
ART
Beauty and destruction. Sacred and profane. Humor, violence, chaos and grace.
Original paintings and mixed-media work exploring the contradictions of being human.
CLOTHING
Original artwork, bad advice, questionable philosophy, and things I probably should have kept to myself.
Some come from my art. Some come from my books. Some come from too many years behind a bar.
Wear accordingly.
VANDAL BEAR
When my son Vandal was born, I painted a bunch of onesies for him. The things I put on them weren't exactly appropriate for baby clothes—at least not if you're a normal person. And I am not. That's why I named my kid, Vandal. I wanted to remind him every day that he is special. That strange is cool. That creepy can be beautiful.
That gave me the idea to create a whole line of baby clothes for people like me: parents who like their cute with a little creepy, their humor inappropriate, and their children slightly dangerous. This is what came of that.
Vandal Bear — Baby Clothes for the Criminally Insane.
THE BARS
I’ve never been interested in building normal restaurants.
The places I create are meant to be experiences—sometimes beautiful, sometimes strange, sometimes a little off-putting. The art, music, food, cocktails and atmosphere are all part of the same idea: give people something they weren’t expecting.
From traditional Mexican culture to Chicano street art, South American steakhouses to cocktails that barely resemble cocktails, each place has its own identity and its own particular kind of madness.
Come see what I’ve built.
